I believe that we can transform and grow from our painful experiences.

All of us have a true, authentic self behind the layers we have built up as a result of trauma, in fear, for protection, and in order to be accepted. I have found that blending medical model interventions and spiritual guidance has the power to move mountains. I am grateful to have the opportunity to offer you empirically supported, brain and somatic based interventions, and a connection to the spirit world to promote deep healing and lasting change. My training and experience in working with trauma, anxiety, and abuse recovery will the backbone of our work together, while intuition provides our foundation.

We all deserve to allow our true selves to shine and experience life in a more authentic, inspired, and joyful way.

Intuitive therapy goes beyond your basic treatment modality and allows the therapist to use their intuition to take a deep dive below the surface of your concerns and bring the unconscious into your conscious awareness.

This is a Mind-Body-Spirit approach combining the power of intuition with Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and other evidence-based treatment interventions.

“Sarah practices with her clients in the same way she walks through the world: with love, light, and deep authenticity and kindness.”

Sarah and I have worked, trained, and practiced alongside one another as Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) in a variety of settings over many years. Sarah will be an absolute gift to you on your path towards healing. She will be your guiding light through the darkness; offering wisdom, compassion, and strength. At each step along the way, Sarah will provide true awareness, profound intuition, and sincere honesty. And throughout all of this, a shared knowing will be built to serve as your foundation for change. — Alison Lynn Catey, LCSW

Cost & Billing for Therapy

  • I do not take insurance. I am a private-pay practice, which means you pay for sessions at the time of service.

  • Insurance providers often limit the amount of sessions they will cover and will not provide coverage if a diagnosis is not provided (even when there is no diagnosis to give). I believe you are ever-evolving and should not have to be given a diagnosis to receive mental health treatment.

I am committed to quality, individualized care. Therefore, I spend the hours that I would be on the phone negotiating with insurance providers, in sessions or furthering my clinical knowledge and expertise to ensure you receive the most current, quality care.

For those who would like to use their insurance, you have the option of using your out-of-network insurance benefits. I provide superbills (a receipt for services) that you can submit to your insurance provider. Please read below for more information on superbills.

  • A superbill is a detailed receipt for services that you submit directly to your insurance provider. Superbills can be a great way to be fully or partially reimbursed for the cost of your out-of-pocket therapy sessions. If you would like to use Superbills, I suggest reaching out to your insurance company and asking:

    • Do I have out-of -network coverage for mental health?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible?

    • What is the coverage amount per therapy session for CPT 90806 and 90808?

    • What is my copay (before and after I reach my deductible)?

  • Yes. I reserve a few spots for sliding scale clients. Please email sarahdugasllc@gmail.com to inquire about current openings or to be added to the waitlist.

  • You must be a Maine resident to be a therapy client. If you are outside the state of Maine and are interested in treatment, you can explore other options for working together under Brainspotting and Readings.

“Sarah is uniquely skilled and can provide the healing and support that so many need.”

As someone who has known Sarah in both a personal and professional capacity for many years, I can confidently endorse her skills and expertise. Her warmth, compassion, understanding, and humor create an environment that allows for much connection and growth. Her knowledge of the modalities used and ability to explain her approach to the work create feelings of safety and trust. — Abby Lalone, M.S., LCMHC, LMHC
